Err, sorry for the lack of updates. Whenever I feel I have something to say I can never seem to get around to it before I forget. Oh well.
Anyway, the following message is for my friends from AU since the AUG forum is busted:
Aiden would not willingly accept any money from Korin, because Korin's attack on Aiden was the result of mind control, and not Korin's fault at all. Besides, Aiden feels more than a little guilty about what his relatives did to Korin's people. No, it's not rational, but guilt rarely is.
Anyway, for about a week I've had the basic bodies for all the portraits except Korin's done (sorry, I've never drawn a dwarf before). This is for me the hardest and most time consuming part of drawing, but now that it's done, the characters need clothing, equipment, and shading. So, what would you guys like them to be wearing/holding?
As for poses:
Talahan is holding his greatsword in front of his body and is smirking (I think it suits him).
Tera has both her fists on her hips and looks proud and confident.
Safiya has her weight on one leg and her hand on her hip and even though I didn't mean for her to, I swear she's glaring a challenge at the viewer.
Desmond is standing slightly relaxed with his hand resting on on his sword's hilt and smiling slightly. |

Stacey is back! You know, little obnoxious plagiarist from here, here and here
This time she was harassing my friend in his live-journal. He got annoyed and posted a response here. Beware, for he clearly has a talent for extreme profanity.
Pat, you so totally win. That kicked ass. I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

So this is my third week as a full-time employee. After this, I'll have three weeks left before my internship ends (and classes start again). I'm not even half way and I'm already tired.
Bethesda Softworks is a great place to work and all the people are really nice. Working on Oblivion is fun but I'd be a lot happier if I didn't have to get up at the most ridiculous hour of the morning.
Meh. First paycheck this week. Whoooo!

So, I think the stress is getting to my mother. Yesterday, she got her hair cut incredibly short (so short I told her that the next time she falls asleep in the chair in grandma's room, I'm going to sneak up behind her with hair gel and spike it), and then when I got up this morning I found out she'd gotten her ears pieced.
Also, to thank her for staying with him, my brother got her a Gameboy Advanced SP(at least this means I've got mine back).
On the other hand, she seems really cheerful and less stressed out than I've seen her in ages. So I guess it's all a good thing.
I think my father is more confused than I am.

Also, in other(more important) news. I now have a full time job. I'm a QA Intern at Bethesda Softworks. This amounts to me being paid 10 dollars an hour to play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Envy Me.

My brother is back from the hospital and is fine. The doctors opted not to give him surgery. Instead they're going to wait and see if it happens again.
Side-effects of my brother's hospital trip: My brother is now taking heart medication He is not allowed to have caffeine for a few days I have been STRESSED THE FUCK OUT, but everything is okay now, so it doesn't matter My mother has been EVEN MORE STRESSED, this is not okay as she is older and does not deal with stress so easily My mother has developed a GBA addiction
The last item on the list is possibly the funniest thing in recent memory. I lent her my GBA when she was sitting waiting in my brother's room. She started playing Mario World 3 and is now addicted. She keeps borrowing my GBA.

As many of you already know, yesterday my brother was hospitalized with a heart condition.
As of today, his heart rate as returned to normal and he says he feels fine (simply bored). He’s being transferred to Washington Hospital Center so they can do some tests. They think they know what the problem is (a congenital condition that my grandmother was also born with) and that they can repair it easily. If they’re correct, then after the test he’ll be able to come home and return to work tomorrow. It isn’t serious, and the surgery he’ll need to schedule is relatively minor.
I got a call from my mother yesterday telling me that he'd been taken to the emergency room but that she didn't know anymore. I managed to get in touch with some of his friends and found out he'd been having trouble with his heart.
It's still weird to have him of all people getting sick (He never gets sick!). I was really freaked out yeasterday, but it looks like he'll be fine.

So, my father saw me kiss my boyfriend a few days ago, he subsequently decided to try and give me his version of the talk.
For those of you who are not aware of why this is so bizarre... I am 22 years old.
I'm not certain whether that was mortifying or hysterically funny.
On a side note, I've become convinced that no one who listens to The Arcade Fire actually likes them, they all just have Tunnels stuck in their heads.

For anyone who's curious:
Last semester I took one 100-level course, one 200-level course, two 300-level courses, and one 400 level course.
The lowest grade I got was a "C" and it was in the 100-level course.
In my defense, it was really boring class.

So it's 2005 and that really alarming, especially since part of my brain says that it should still be the 90's. Instead we're halfway to 2010 and time just seems to go by faster and faster.
I've had this silly journal for about a year and a half now, and I've rarely wrote anything meaningful. Don't expect that to change.
A lot of things have changed since I started writing in this thing, mostly for the better.
I've matured, I think, both physically and mentally. I've finally rid myself of that pesky baby fat and discovered that I have my mother's cheekbones and my father's chin.
My brother and I don't fight much anymore, and when we do, it never comes to blows. He's graduated from college with his second degree, and is considering a teaching job in China or Japan, and I've discovered that I really don't want him to go.
My father and I get along much better than we ever have. Maybe it's because I'm the only one who will listen to him talk about the Pantry.
Mom and Grandma are the same as ever. Grandma is getting older, and her legs pain her more and more often and I worry about her, but I know she's too stubborn to let that change anything and I love her all the more for it.
Mom still treats me like a child and that, at least, will never change.
I've transfered to American University. I'm still shocked at how quickly my admissions letter came. I start classes today. I'm very excited. It's a great school.
I've changed my career goals and my major, for a variety of reasons (mostly political).
I've parted ways with some people (sometimes gradually, and sometimes suddenly), and made more new friends than I can keep track of. You are all wonderful, fascinating, bizarre, insane, intelligent people.
I'm dating someone new now, who I've known since... how long have I known him? Middle school?
Almost everything is looking up, and each year is a little better than the one that came before it. Maybe that's the source of my endless cheerfulness that John commented on earlier today. So maybe it's a bit like that song I've had stuck in my head intermittently since New Years.
To all my close friends, and distant friends; loved ones, and acquaintances: Happy New Years and may this year be better than the last.

I have decided that it is time for me to update this thing.
So, Merry Christmas, everyone. Or, if you don't celebrate Christmas, happy generic secular winter holiday. Or, if secularism offends you... get stuffed.
Today, I received DDR Max 2, and my brother got Taiko Drum Master. Then much fun was had as we watched my mother and uncle play said games. It was great.
My father gave me a copy of a reprinting of the first edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica (printed in 1768), which is immensely cool.
Expect an update with actual content sometime around new years (or sooner if I feel like it), I have a lot to say.
(As per request of a certain individual, I have not said anything about a certain subject, but... what are you planning?)

So, I went and player DDR and Karaoke Revolution with Aldarsior today. It was kind of disturbing, I rocked the pop songs. Sadly, those were the just about the only songs I rocked. I tried to sing 'I Will Survive' and sucked so bad it was funny.
I scored Platinum on: White Flag,Toxic, Hit Me One More Time (or whatever it's called,)Genie in a Bottle, Waiting for Tonight, Complicated, some R&B song I've never heard of before, and End of the World as We Know It.
It's a fun game for the most part, needs a better song selection though.

I feel down the stairs again yesterday, and injured my left foot. I had to go to emergency care and get it x-rayed, but thankfully it's not broken, just sprained. Still hurts like a bitch though. The doctor had it wrapped and told me to stay off of it.
I am also sick, but it's not strep(thankfully).
And... I broke out in hives for no apparent reason, so the doctor gave me some benedril.
In non-health related new, Naruto is now one of my favorite series. I have the first three manga, and 49 episodes of the anime.

Otakon was a ton of fun, except people kept thinking I was dressed up as Kikyou from Inuyasha (I guess her costume is a lot like Motoko's).
Anyway, my friends and I are doing a group for next year, and we plan on getting started really soon, because these costumes are really complex and if we can get enough people, then the group will be fairly large.
We are looking for more people to fill up the group, and here's the deal: I'll do whatever sewing is necessary, but everyone pays for their own supplies. The other parts of the costumes (armor, weapons, bone) we work on together.
Here's the list of characters (if you don't know what they're from, well, then I guess you shouldn't join)
We have: Dace - Matt Swan - Jommy (hopefully) Maiden of the Mirthless Smile - Me (yay for tons of pale makeup!) Falling Tears Poet - Eddy Black Ice Shadow - Pat
We're going to ask... Amir to be The Seven Degree Surgeon Jeremiah to be Disciple of the Seven Forbidden Wisdoms Lisa to be May Blossom
And these characters are free... Panther Ariana Harmonious Jade Lady of Darkness in Blood-Stained Robes (I honestly don't think anyone I know is crazy enough to wear this outfit, as it amounts to half a dress and some strategically placed chains) Shepard of the North Star (I think that's his name) Iron Siaka Crimson Banner Executioner
